The Lake Arrowhead Marina and Boat House
Lake Arrowhead has a Marina at the south end of the lake offering boat slips on a reserved basis. There is also a boat launch ramp area for residents storing their boats elsewhere. A small sailboat concession and sailing lessons are also offered. A dry boat storage area is also available within Lake Arrowhead. Proposed developmental plans call for a larger Marina facility adding more boat slips.
Boat slip rental information is available at the Lake Arrowhead membership
Ahoy! and Welcome to Kingdom Yachts Sailing Club!
We are a family-based organization that started teaching certified ASA (American Sailing Association) sailing lessons over 25 years ago on Lake Sydney Lanier. Recently, our dream of expanding has been fulfilled, and we now have a second location here at Lake Arrowhead where we have the ability to teach lessons (both on-shore and off), give day camps, arrange trips as well as rent boats and give boat rides! We've been members at Lake Arrowhead since the early ‘70’s. Between our family and extended family, we own three tracts of land here and have many special memories in connection with the area. It’s as much our home as it is yours, so, while offering our services to you, we desire to treat you as the extended family you are!
ASA Certified Sailing Lessons, Rentals, Boat Rides & Trips
Not only are KYSC instructors ASA certified, but they are also US Coast Guard Licensed Captains. This means we can take you through many different levels of sailing and boating lessons and certification – from getting you comfortable in a small sailboat on the lake to giving you the skills and credibility to charter a sailboat off the coast.
In addition to lessons, we have the ability to rent eco-friendly boats. Currently, we have a variety of paddle boats (with or without an electric motor), row boats, electric motor boats, sailboats and a pontoon boat. We are looking into acquiring various canoes & kayaks as well since we are associated with canoe and kayak livery companies that can arrange some awesome river trips.
Below, please find our schedule and class information. Feel free to contact us at anytime with questions or for pricing info at firstname.lastname@example.org or 770.887.7966!
Our sailing and boating lessons are private or semi-private, and are available by request. See course descriptions and sequencing below. Boat Rentals & Boat Rides: anytime by appointment! ASA certified courses always available each weekend.
Basic Small Boat Sailing - ASA 110 – Despite the numbering, this is the first course in the standard ASA curriculum. It will take you through the terminology and steps, both onshore and off, to be able to sail a boat under 16’, without a motor or a keel, in light winds. No prior sailing knowledge necessary!
Basic Keelboat Sailing – ASA 101 – Next in the lineup, this course will give you the knowledge, both onshore and off, that allows you to be in control of a keeled sail boat up to 20 ft in length in light winds in local waters. No prior sailing experience necessary!
Basic Coastal Cruising – ASA 103 – This class requires the completion of the ASA 101 course. It will show you how to captain a larger keeled sailboat of up to 30 ft in length with an outboard in local and regional waters in moderate winds.
ASA certified courses available by request
Bareboat Charting – ASA 104 – This is an advanced class requiring completion of both the ASA 101 and ASA 103 courses. With this class you will be able to skipper or crew sailboats as large as 50’ on coastal waters. You will also gain knowledge of boating systems and maintenance procedures.
Coastal Navigation (ASA 105) and Advanced Coastal Cruising (ASA 106) – We offer both of these courses by request, but also on a regular basis, shore side, in January and February. The ASA 105 course is taught shore side, either locally or in the Islands. The ASA 106 course is taught in the British Virgin Islands aboard a boat. This way we can keep warm while continuing to expand our sailing skill set.
KINGDOM YACHTS SAILING CLUB
In addition to all the above, KYSC is also a sailing club. We host events where the club members can socialize and build their skills. On our site ( www.sailclub.org) many members make public their desire to crew at our monthly events or offer their boats for other members to use. Basically it's a network of sailors encompassing all levels and interests where anyone can feel comfortable and included. In addition to our local events, we plan trips to the Caribbean and would love to have you join us on our next cruise!
Check out our “Calendar of Events” on our website (www.sailclub.org) to see what activities are coming up next!
